RUSSIA – Fingerprint Submission Now Required for Certain Visa Applicants

4 Dec

Beginning December 10, 2014, all visa applicants at Russian consular posts in the U.K., Ireland, Denmark, Myanmar, and Namibia will be required to have their fingerprints taken as part of the visa application process. The fingerprinting requirement is also being implemented by the border control service for all individuals arriving into Vnukovo Airport in Moscow.

We expect that this requirement will be implemented in the near future at all Russian consular posts abroad and other international arrival points. Applicants for Russian visas should be aware of this process change and take into consideration the additional time it may take to submit their fingerprints in person at the consulate in order to meet this new requirement and secure a visa in the future.

As always, Foster will continue to monitor changes to visa requirements and procedures at foreign consular posts in the U.S., and around the world, and will provide future updates via our firm’s website at www.fosterglobal.com.
