HOUSTON – March 13, 2015 – Charles Foster of Foster LLP, a leading immigration law firm delivering the full spectrum of U.S. and global immigration solutions, and wife, Lily Chen Foster, were the featured honorees at the annual Tiger Ball benefiting Asia Society Texas Center. This year’s gala celebrated the 35th anniversary of Asia Society in Houston.

The event took place on March 12 at the Asia Society Texas Center and the evening’s theme was Enchanting China. The black tie event honored Charles Foster and his wife for their over two decades of contributions to the Asia Society, and their dedication to the promotion of international understanding between Asia and the United States.

The Fosters played a vital role in the planning and development of the over $48 million Asia Society Texas Center building, located in Houston’s museum district. Designed by world renowned architect Yoshio Taniguchi, the building was completed in late 2011 and serves as the Asia Society’s headquarters.

“Never have Lily and I been more proud of what we have accomplished together with many others – fellow board members, friends, advisers, contributors and dedicated staff past and present,” said Charles Foster. “We stand in awe and count ourselves fortunate to have played a role in building this organization into the policy and cultural powerhouse it is today.”

Lily Chen Foster was honored for her exemplary work in promoting the Asia Society in Houston. As a mother, a former Chinese and American movie star, community activist and mental health advocate, Lily Chen Foster has contributed to numerous philanthropic activities, and helped to advance many educational and engaging cultural programs that have reached children and families throughout the community. She was also named one of Houston’s 50 Most Influential Women of 2014 by Houston Woman magazine.

Charles Foster has served as a member and as chairman of the Asia Society’s board of directors for 24 years, and this year marks the end of an era as he steps away from his role as chairman.

“We have achieved everything I could have ever imagined, and I feel that it’s time for me to take a step back and make way for the new guard of leaders who will have the privilege of steering this beautiful ship,” continued Charles Foster.
