CIS Returns Premium Processing for FY-2018 H-1B Cap Petitions

19 Sep

On Monday, September 18th, U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services (CIS) announced the return of premium processing for H-1B petitions filed under the Fiscal Year 2018 H-1B Master’s and Regular Cap.  Previously the CIS had resumed premium processing for H-1B petitions filed by cap-exempt petitioners and those filed for medical doctors under the Conrad 30 and Interested Government Agency waiver programs.

Premium processing remains suspended for H-1B extension, change of employer, and amendment petitions.  The CIS will reject requests for premium processing for these types of cases until the CIS announces the return of premium processing for additional case types as workloads permit.   In the interim, as a matter of discretion CIS may expedite cases that meet specific CIS expedite criteria.

To initiate an “upgrade” to premium processing for a pending H-1B petition under one of the categories referenced above, contract your Foster immigration attorney.  Foster LLP will continue to monitor availability of premium processing and will provide additional information via future Immigration Updates© and on our firm’s website at www.fosterglobal.com.
