April 2022 Visa Bulletin – Little to No Movement with One Exception

7 Apr

The U.S. Department of State (DOS) has published the Monthly Visa Bulletin for April 2022, revealing no movement or modest movement on both the “Dates for Filing” and “Final Action Dates” charts, with the exception of one category.

The April Visa Bulletin reveals no forward movement in the Dates for Filing and Final Action Dates under the EB-2 and EB-3 categories for individuals born in China (PRC). The Dates for Filing for the EB-2 category for individuals born in India, however, saw a large jump moving forward by one year, and the Final Action Dates for this category moved forward by just over two months. The Other Workers category is mixed with modest forward movement for individuals born in China (PRC) but no movement for individuals born in India.

Dates for Filing and Final Action Dates remain current in the EB-1 category for all countries of birth. The dates also remain current for those born outside of China (PRC) and India in the EB-2, EB-3, and Other Workers categories. EB-5 Non-Regional Center remains current on the Dates for Filing and Final Action Dates for all countries of birth. The EB-5 Regional Center category remains unavailable for the Final Action Dates until Congress’ recent reauthorization of the program is implemented. The Dates of Filing for the EB-5 Regional Center category remains current for all individuals born outside China (PRC), with no movement for individuals who were born in China (PRC)

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has confirmed on its website that beneficiaries of employment-based immigrant petitions should use the Dates for Filing to determine eligibility to file adjustment of status (“green card”) applications.
