Avalyn Langemeier Reappointed to Serve on the AILA Health Care Professionals/Physicians Committee

HOUSTON – June 9, 2015 – Avalyn C. Langemeier, partner at Foster LLP, has been reappointed to the American Immigration Lawyer’s Association’s (AILA) 2015-2016 Health Care Professionals/Physician Committee.

AILA is the national association of immigration lawyers established to promote justice, advocate for fair and reasonable immigration law and policy, advance the quality of immigration and nationality law and practice, and enhance the professional development of its members. The AILA Health Care Professionals/Physicians Committee works on issues unique to foreign-born physicians and other health care professionals. The committee also accepts case inquiries for the Waiver Review Division of the U.S. Department of State, develops practice pointers for the AILA membership, and provides guidance and mentorship to attorneys who file petitions and applications for health care professionals.

Langemeier has been practicing law for over 20 years. Her practice focuses on a wide variety of employment and compliance-based immigration matters. She is a frequent speaker on immigration matters at professional conferences as well as seminars for employers, community organizations and human resource professionals. Langemeier has spoken at conferences hosted by the National Association of Foreign Student Advisors (NAFSA), Gulf Coast Symposium, the American Society for Healthcare Human Resources (ASHHRA), the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), AILA, and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).
