The U.S. Department of State (DOS) issued the Monthly Visa Bulletin for February 2020, which reflects no movement of the Dates for Filing across backlogged preference categories, along with minor forward movement across backlogged Final Action Dates, or priority dates.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (CIS) confirmed on its website when filing during the month of February 2020 that beneficiaries of employment-based immigrant petitions applying under the EB-1, EB-2, or EB-5 preference categories should use the Dates for Filing rather than the Final Action Dates, whereas beneficiaries under the EB-3 and Other Workers categories should utilize the Final Action Dates.

The Final Action Date Chart reflects no movement in the priority dates for EB-1 applicants born in India and China, whereas other preference categories for applicants born in India and China moved forward slightly, specifically one (1) day for EB-2 India, one (1) week for EB-3 India, two (2) weeks for EB-2 China, and one (1) month for EB-3 China. For all other chargeability areas, including El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Philippines, and Vietnam, EB-1 moved forward two (2) months, while the EB-2 and EB-3 categories for all other areas of chargeability remain current.
