On September 21, India announced a suspension of new visa services in Canada, which affects all Canadian citizens seeking to apply for a new Indian visa, even if they are currently located outside of Canada. The visa suspension comes amid an escalating diplomatic dispute between the two countries. 

The new visa suspension does not apply to Canadian citizens that are currently registered as Overseas Citizens of India (OCI Cardholders), to Canadian citizens who hold valid Indian visas, or to Canadian citizens in India who must apply for a visa renewal. These individuals may still use their valid visas to enter and stay in India. 

At this time, there is no confirmed timeframe for when the new visa suspension may be lifted.
