Judge Issues Injunction Temporarily Reinstating CHNV Parole Programs

11 Apr

On April 10, 2025, a federal judge issued a stay on an order for the termination of the Cuban, Haitian, Nicaraguan, and Venezuelan (CHNV) parole programs, thereby halting the Trump administration from ending a program that allowed hundreds of thousands of people to temporarily live in the United States. The program was set to terminate on April 24, 2025. The stay will be temporary and will remain in place while the legal case progresses through the federal courts.

Given the potential for only a temporary reinstatement of the program, effected parolees should consult with qualified immigration counsel such as Foster LLP to evaluate any legal options they may have to remain in or return to the United States. Foster LLP will continue to monitor changes in immigration benefits and will provide additional updates via our firm’s website at fosterglobal.com.
