March 2024 Visa Bulletin – Modest Forward Movement

20 Feb

The U.S. Department of State (DOS) has published the monthly Visa Bulletin for March 2024 revealing forward movement in a few categories. Most of the forward movement was moderate.

In the EB-1, EB-2, and EB-3 categories, the Date for Filing remained the same for all countries.

The Final Action Dates remain current in the EB-1 category for all countries of birth except China (PRC) and India, which continue to show backlogs; however, the backlogs did slightly improve. The Final Action Date improved by 2 weeks for individuals born in China, and by a month for individuals born in India.

In the EB-2 category, the Final Action Dates remained the same for China and India while it moved a week forward for all other countries. In the EB-3 category, the Final Action Dates remained the same for China and India while it advanced a week forward for all other countries. In the “Other Workers” category, the Final Action Dates remained the same for individuals born in China, India, and Philippines and advanced one week for all other countries.

The EB-5 Unreserved category continues to show backlogs in the Dates for Filing and Final Action Dates for individuals born in China and India. The Dates for Filing and Final Action Dates for both countries of birth remain unchanged. All other EB-5 categories and countries of birth are current on both the Dates for Filing and Final Action Dates.

USCIS has confirmed on its website that beneficiaries of employment-based immigrant petitions should use the Final Action Dates to determine eligibility to file adjustment of status (“green card”) applications. The chart below indicates the changes in the March 2024 Visa Bulletin relative to the February 2024 Visa Bulletin:
